Exploring Modern Scottish Sculpture at Marchmont House
Saturday 21 September 2019
Scotland has been a source of beautiful, inspiring and internationally influential modern sculpture since world war II, but has often been an under-celebrated subject. This event explores, unveils and celebrates modern Scottish Sculpture lead by experts, industry leaders & artists who will seek to define what Scottish Sculpture stands for, to shine a light on the giants like Paolozzi, Turnbull & Laing, to uncover the hidden stories and support a new generation of talented sculptors working in Scotland today.
We seek to bring together a world class group of speakers, an interesting mix of artists, curators, auctioneers, dealers, collectors and enthusiasts to explore a fascinating topic. The event will be located in beautiful surroundings of Marchmont House, in the Scottish Borders, which has an extraordinary collection of modern sculpture from Scotland and around the United Kingdom.
