The Trade are five young musicians hailing from sleepy town Forfar, Angus who pride themselves on their stomping clap along anthems that are 'fighting to get out'. Having been together since 2007 they have established themselves quickly in the Northern Scottish Music scene and with extensive gigging they have fine tuned their music to how they now want it to be. Their sound is not to be missed and their live performances Engage their audiences with their Sing-Along, Clap-Along anthems and come along with an energy and fire that carries on long after the gig has ended.
It has been the bands ambition to take their music along with this amazing energy to as many people as possible. The massive and very loyal fanbase which they already have continues to grow day by day is a testiment to all the work they have done so far and are continuing to do. In their time together they have already played in some of the countries most prestigious venues such as King Tuts, The O2 Acadamy, ABC and Moshulu and have a number of amazing venues already lined up for 2010 when they are also touring England and Scotland to promote the release of their new album, Lie In The Dark which is due for release on the 14th of June.
At the end of 2007 the band entered the studio to record a collection of song's "Empire." They would pass out over 1000 of this 13 track demo to absolutly everyone they knew and to all the new fans they met along the way. The following year they set off to the studio again to record their "Breakdown EP." featuring indie stomper "The Dealer" of which the video to was played on the digital TV service "Virgin On Demand." 2009 proved to be a turning point for The Trade as they also began working with producer Jeff Allen (Mogwi, Franz Ferdinand, Belle and Sebastion) at CaVa Studios, Glasgow, where they recorded 2 new singles "Fight Club" & "Do You Want It?" 2010 is the year where the work with Jamie Savage at the prestigious Chem19 recording studio in the recording of their album, Lie In The Dark, which will be released on Mon 14th June.

Still Burning Review in Flares N Seagulls
Alan Windram & The Telephone Exchange
After spending 10 years with Edinburgh based band 'Splendid' , releasing three 'sold out' independant Albums (on their own label), touring most of Scotland and supporting the likes of 'Fish', 'Ricky Ross' (Deacon Blue), 'China Crisis', 'Catatonia' and 'The Mutton Birds'. ,. Alan (now based in Galashiels) took some time off to work on songs for his debut solo album. While the 'splendid' songs were more Teenage Fanclub, Fountains Of Wayne the new solo material is more intimate but still has a highly charged edge to it sounding like a cross between Del Amitri and Travis with a heavy dose of Snow Patrol thrown in for good measure. The resulting album '10 o'clock in the morning' was released last summer on 10am Records to some great reviews
“The string section gears up behind a rock guitar and breaks into an anthemic chorus – must be Snow Patrol. A rhythmic acoustic strum underpins a melodic vocal – must be Travis. Well, no on both accounts; these are apt descriptions for 'I Just Don’t Know' and 'Whenever you Are Near', tracks three and four on the debut album by Alan Windram. The former lead singer with Edinburgh indie band Splendid self-consciously elbows his way towards the sound of Scotland’s stadium elite, but there’s no denying he knows how to craft a tune, and in its own low key way this is another wee cracker to add to the Scottish pop canon”
The Herald * * * *
“A cross between Jason Mraz and Travis with a hint of Snow Patrol, the album combines Alan’s talent for catchy melodies that can’t fail to get under your skin, with lyrics that take you unawares with their naive honesty and poignancy producing 11 tracks of melodic, sun-kissed Scottish Americana with harmonies and hooks to die for.”
The Southern Reporter * * * *
"Alan specialises in strong hooky melodies with achy-sweet backing vocals and lots of chiming lead guitar"
The Scotsman * * *
"breezy, mature, well-crafted guitar pop with hooks to hang your hat on"
The List * * *
Joining Alan Live onstage are a band of Alans friends who played on the solo album and have got together under the name of, 'The Telephone Exchange'
featuring Rory Butler on Telecaster guitar (from SOL), Sandy Butler on Bass (Fair Witness)
Dave Dukes on Drums (Homecoming String Band among others) and Stewart Veitch also on Telecaster ( Alan's former compadre from 'Splendid')
The Dull Fudds
Heralding from the Scottish Borders, The Dull Fudds have played together for 3 years and consist of 4 slightly mad yet lovable musicians whose high-energy performance and gloriously catchy songs are guaranteed to get audiences dancing.
With melodic female harmonies, flute and rocking drum and bass groove their inspired sound is a boiling pot of genres, eloquently crafted into pop songs with a difference by songwriter and charismatic front woman, Katie Forbes.
The band have just released their debut album “Gibberish” which is available to download from Amazon and iTunes and are signed to Brigside Music Publishing Ltd.
"The Dull Fudds remained true to the idiosyncrasies they were born with and have unfurled an album of work more than capable of holding its own out there, and should fear the presence of nothing when taking their place among the great and the good.
This band are currently doing things differently and if that’s not reason enough to celebrate them then I don’t know what is.”
