Selkirk based songwriter, Kieran Halpin will play a double header concert with Dublin born and Melbourne(Australia) based songwriter Enda Kenny.
Enda Kenny is doing a short UK tour in June this year and his friend and fellow Irishman Halpin has managed to persuade him to come north of the border for one show. Both have been friends for many years and on Halpin’s many tours of Australia always manages to play at least one show in the Melbourne area and stay a few days with Kenny.
Halpin is well known in the UK and around Europe as a writer of many songs covered by other artists – The Battlefield Band, Dolores Keane, Vin Garbutt, Real Time and the late John Wright. Kenny is well known in his adopted country for writing insightful and intelligent songs – each one telling it’s own unique story.
Both writers have their own highly developed style with Kenny being a more laid back performer while Halpin has a rocky feel to many numbers.
There will be a bar at the venue with profits going to the Denholm Festival fund.
