It was launched with a small fair at Castle Douglas in August 2002, which attracted 6,000 visitors, and by 2005 had outgrown the site and moved to Raehills, a magnificent 6,500 acre country estate set amidst the rolling Galloway hills on the banks of Kinnel Water with excellent road links from the A701 and the M74.

WIN TICKETS TO MISTERSTOURWORM AND THE KELPIE'S GIFT PLUS A SIGNED COPY OF THE ALBUM

Misterstourworm and the Kelpie's Gift is a new musical theatre show for children is touring the Borders from the 2nd-23rd July and performing at the Edinburgh Fringe 12th-25th August.

Join Ban and Dan on an exciting musical adventure! Heroes, Monsters, and Misterstourworm – the biggest, most horrible baddie of them all… Will good triumph over evil? Will Ban and Dan finish their story? Weaving its way through enchanting soundscapes and mythological creatures this is a journey not to be missed!

The idea for the musical theatre show grew from the recording of 'Misterstouworm and the Kelpie's Gift', an orchestral work with narrative for children, which was released as an illustrated cd/book on 9th June 2008.  The recording was launched at The Barn Gallery, Skateraw, East Lothian in spectacular style with the Orchestra of Scottish Opera performing alongside Lord of the Ring's Billy Boyd to an audience of 350 schoolchildren from the surrounding area. The response from the kids and teachers was tremendous and both the performance and recording have received excellent review in the media (http://www.misterstourworm.com/reviews.php).

The musical theatre show is an extension of the recording and is a fun introduction to storytelling with music. Two characters called Ban and Dan take the audience on an entertaining, magical journey, exploring some of the key concepts behind storytelling. The performance climaxes with the story of Misterstourworm and the Kelpie's Gift (a young boy's quest to free his people from a cruel and terrible sea monster), told against the stunning orchestral backdrop of the recording.
